dont know if this has come u before but i bet it will create some lively debate, how many on here are or would be comfortable to let their other halves use the m ? any funny or scary annecdotes

My fiance uses mine more than me. Which is annoying as she has the seat really far forward and when I get in my knees are near my face

My fiancé (wife as of tomorrow :? ) is insured on mine which is brilliant as it makes my premium about £100 cheaper! I've owned my MC for over a month now though, she has still yet to drive it... :tumbleweed:

I do trust her, I wouldn't be worried about the driving, it's just I worry about the parking! My CSL's are currently unmarked and I want to keep them that way! Plus she doesn't like me parking 3 miles away from the supermarket entrance so I'd worry if she had it on her own it may get parked next to an envious family battle wagon!

Honeymooning in Cornwall for 2 weeks from Tuesday so I'm sure she'll get some driving in then :driving:

PS - I'm so nervous about tomorrow, big wedding and all that...just refreshing new posts on here to take my mind of things!!

Don't you have the four little buttons on the side of the seat?

My wife has shown little interest in driving the M but it would be OK, she has driven all my cars in the past.

Andi.

hey woody good luck for the wedding, dont worry , the first 20 years are the worst ! :poke: enjoy cruising cornwall on yr honeymoon , hope the sun shines on the both of you, tho with the way this summers been, that may be a first !

My better half is insured which makes it more expensive but I don't mind. We only have the one car between us living in London so it's not fair not having her insured. I trust her implicitly behind the wheel of the M and she won't hold back putting her foot down either which is nice.

We went to France last week and covered over 650 miles in a day, she had never driven on the wrong side of the road but as I was exhausted, not only did she cover the last 100 miles of motorway and French B roads but she managed to fill up with V power and follow the sat nav all whilst I was asleep! Brilliant!

Her choice of parking spot leaves something to be desired but I'm training her slowly but surely and she almost kerbed the wheel when I first bought it but after I lost it in the passenger seat, she never did it again. Lol!

She leaves the bloody seat against the wheel though so my face is on the windscreen and every time I breath I honk the horn but apart from that. S'all good :-)

Ha thanks mate, I'm sure it'll be fine. Weather for wedding is looking good, honeymoon in Cornwall...hhmmmmm! One of the many reasons I went for a M Coup rather than roadster!

Thanks Rob, we're staying at Headland Hotel best room for one night:

Then few nights at b and b's, spa hotels along north coast then a week at a cottage in Padstow

http://www.crwholidays.co.uk/property/trevillian,-31-dennis-road/171

So we've got a base to travel from and back to in the Z :)

We don't like getting hot, sat on beach all day anyway so not too bothered about weather, would like a few sunny days on the beach though!

If you go south just a few miles to the Harlyn/Trevose head area there are some nice beaches that's are often quiet. Mother Iveys Bay Bay is lovely

Good Choice, I know Carne, that beach very well. It was my local beach when I was young. Also launched my boat from there a few times as well.

Sometimes I go into that hotel for lunch when I see family at home. I take my Nanna there as he used to stay there many moons ago with my Grandad. It's very nice place. I'm sure you will have a great time! The coast along that part is very nice, and worth exploring. If you head south down the coast, you will head towards St Mawes and can cross the estuary on the King Harry Ferry to get over towards Falmouth. Some great roads too! Enjoy

My wife drives my M5 and Z4M. They're just cars.

for me its not about them being "just cars" i look after and drive my cars in a certain way...... most women dont give a crap and see the car as a mere from a - b machine, especially ones that arent interested in cars, so id rather she drive her car and ill drive hers and mine! lol!!

if shes like me and loved them and cared for them like i do... no problem... sadly i'm yet to meet one with the same love for all things petrol... over the top?? maybe.... but it saves an argument it something goes wrong.

Mrs D6GMB is actually the registered keeper of our Z4M and i am the registered keeper for her 3 series coupe.Dont ever worry about her driving it as she is carefull with her own car, never parks next to other cars etc and at the end of the day its only metal and can be repaired if something happens to it.
She does have a bit of a heavy right foot though and have had to warn her a few times when shes driven the Z4.  :driving:

My good lady has been a passenger once when I first got it and decreed that she hated the car and will never be a passenger let alone drive it! :headbang:

Mrs IKZ4 has driven the MC a couple of times but she doesn't like it. She's got a 1 series coupe so she's used to relatively low cars, but she really struggles with the steering response on the Z4MC. Says she can't relax, as she feels that if she looks left the car moves to the left!!

I first met my wife on Rennlist (a Porsche mailing list), so she knows and loves her cars!
