Part number for cruise stalk

Hi all I have a 53 reg 2.5 and am looking to install the cruise control. I understand that the loom is already installed and that my cowling should have cut out marks so I just need the stalk itself. Does anyone have the part number for this?

Many thanks

O.K just phoned the dealer to order this part and was told I could only buy the stalk and couling together, also get this I have to book my car in to get the cruise control programmed into the car. After a few minutes of ‘discussion’ they are ordering the part from Germany and I told them to poke their re-programming p**h.

God I really hate my stealers, I need to be writing up a full report in the dealer section when I get a minute.

P.S £86.50 for the stalk.

It's very dealer specific how people are treated. I cannot speak highly enough of the parts team at my dealers (Was Ryedale, now Sytner, Sutton Colfield) The 2 main parts people Chris and Maureen have well over 20 years service each will sit down have a drink with you and chat about projects, bits, etc. Any kit or part you want can actually be identified on a separate system and oft broken down to individual bits, even individual pins in a connector if you wish so never accept the 'it's a full kit' answer

BTW - your price is spot on for switch alone.

That's good of your dealer to be like that, sounds as though they take customer satisfaction seriously. I don't know what my dealers problem is, they are very much incompetent and seem to have no quality control. I think from now on I’m going to give my next nearest (1 hour away) dealership a try.

Never mind though as long as I get the part next!

Sorry, am new to this, but really like the idea of installing the CC to my 2003 Z4 2.5 . Does it work with manual, or is this an auto only mod??
Thanks!

Works just fine with the manual :) it should be simple on your car too :D

Welcome to the forum by the way!

i ordered it (stalk, cables and housing)and got it installed in 15mins. mine is a 2004 so all the cables were there, and only had to fit the stalk and the new housing, only one screw!!!! very, very easy. they charged me £150 for the kit. only dealer also said it was necessary to program it, but that is not true, it is a simple plug and play, best £150 i spent in a long time!!!!!!

did`nt know you could fit cruise control as a aftermarket mod !!! cool 8)

Probably the easiest retrofit you could imagine. (Depending on the age and model) If your an earlier model you can do it for half the kit price as the wiring is already there

Matt

About 8 posts back is the price quoted at £86.50 and in the prior post I left a link to another thread with all the part numbers and prices....

I would not buy a new cowling as the cut lines are marked on it and you can saw & file or dremmel it out in 10 mins. and save £70+ The cowling is cosmetic only, not structural as the stalk fits into the column.
