Part ID Help - Idle Control Valve

Hi all,

I've taken my Z4 out from storage for the first time since August. Other than a flat battery, the other issue I had was a rough startup where the revs were bouncing.

After some reading I found a video which explained my symptoms perfectly and identified the idle control valve being stuck as the cause.

I've gone to check it this morning, and it is indeed stuck solid. However, I also noticed a tear in the tubing. I need to replace the part but cannot for the life of me find the part number. I think I got close on realoem, but the part is shown on the diagram but not numbered.

Does anyone have any ideas on which part I may need?

Hello mate, I hope you can get the car up and running again soon. You can free up the ICV when removed from car (fairly easy) by squirting in brake cleaner and giving it a good shake.

I've had it soaking for a few hours now, no joy sadly. Will persevere but have seen they're £30 off autodoc so not the end of the world if it's seized

Certainly raised the neighbours eyebrows when they came out while I was giving it a shake!

Intake boot is in Fuel preparation section on real OEM
A good soaking with brake cleaner should free up the idle control valve. When it's shaken in hand the internals should rattle.

No joy with the valve yet, any tips? I am currently spraying Halfords brake cleaner into the internals and leaving to soak.

Sorted the valve, it now makes a nice knocking noise when shake.

Now to sort the rest..

Just to update the thread for those that may come across it, replacement part arrived today and was a perfect fit.

After putting everything back together, the car idles as expected. :driving:

Get a whiff of fuel from the engine bay on start up, and a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust, but want to give it a good run before trying any diagnostics with those as could be where it's been sat for so long.
