Parrot MKIi9200 and business system

on ebay, the unika is best part of £100ish, then the MKi9200 is another £150ish

so i think i would rather buy from a local installer, some one i can talk to face to face

Reggie-g75/Hotride, I have just had a look at my dash, now you have the cable poking through for the screen, is your dash still all flush and tight

Mine looks far too flush to poke a wire through it

it is surprisingly tight  - I'll take a better pic when it's light tomorrow.

Speed camera alerts - I'll drop you a PM Billy.

Mic is up by the centre light by the useless sunglass hidey hole - I'll take a pic. You have to angle the mic directly at your mouth for optimum sound - so the books says anyway!

I threaded the cable through the gap between steering wheel column and dash, so I never actually had to open or pull it apart. I put the mic on the steering wheel too, so same story. On top of the steering wheel is close as it gets to your mouth, so it works well for me

hotride, just had another look at yours, can see now you have not put it behind the dash panel

Taz - pics of the mouting of the screen FYI.

Reggie-g75, today i fitted my Parrot and i'm not overly impressed so far

how did you route your speaker above the rear view mirror and have you tried an ipod and a usb adapter togeather? I find with both fitted the USB does not operate, the Parrot appears to loose connection to the USB

yesterday i was piffed off with my Parrot, I have just been on the Parrot web site and updated my software, i assumed a brand new Parrot would have the latest software, er wong. I can now access both my ipod and my usb stick, oh also my sd card

for you with parrots it may be updating your software

I just got an iPhone 4 a few weeks ago, and it wouldn't work with the mki9200. However after updating the software it worked great  good tip taz

hotride, do you have BMW bluetooth? are you using the parrot bluetooth or the BMW bluetooth

i can not get the BMW bluetooth to work now, although it dials there is no speaker volume through the car

Taz I'm confused, why did you remove the BMW iPod interface and fit a Parrot when you also have BMW Bluetooth.

all because i wanted to see track ID info :headbang:

i have the standard business cd so using the ipod all i see is track 1 track 2 etc

Ello,

I'm due to pick up my '06 coupe next Friday and will be sorting out IPOD capability as soon as I can after. This system intrigues me but I'd like to know how you access the menu using the MFSW. How easy is it to set all tracks to shuffle?

Cheers,

Phill :driving:

I wonder if you could flash the BMW ipod kit with the dension one that would give you the ID3 tags. AKAIK it's the same kit so might just be a firmware thing.

You could fit just an aux-in which gives you no control at all, I have it on my Micra and it is OK, just stick it on shuffle as you say.

You can also get the kit which offers control and charges too - Taz is selling his here

Taz - my car didn't come with bluetooth - hence why this system suited me so well, I find the parrot bluetooth top quality.

I don't see how the parrot system could effect your oem bluetooth tho, as you don't cut/remove any of the original cables. does your phone have the ability to connect to both sources at once? did you install the system or did you get it done by some shop?

Friengineer - AS for the MFSW control - i believe you need to buy the parrot unika kit also, and you can control the MKI9200 from your MFSW.

This is correct but you have very limited control
