Parrot MKI9200...Pictures/Reviews...

After testing and owning various ipod connection solutions I have finally decided to get the MKI9200 bought and installed.

I am just wondering where people have placed their control units and screens...any pictures would be welcomed!

Also just a few reviews on personal experience over time would be good as I know that the majority of ipod connectivity solutions can be temperamental at best.

currently have the controls between the handbrake and gear shifter, where idrive would be. The screen can be mounted anywhere but atm I have it on the steering wheel between the speed/rev meters.

I find the mki9200 to be great, always works, but make sure you update it often. I have found when apple releases updated software, it can affect the parrot (eg blue tooth not connecting correctly) until you update the parrot with the latest parrot software. no big deal tho.

and since the parrot comes with USB input I now have a $5 usb stick in the glove box opposed to a $300 ipod being wasted as a storage device 8)
 
That Brodit Clip looks like a decent idea...I'm presuming that the screen simply slides on and ofdf that clip?

What relevant connector leads does the Parrot require to enable it to be hooked upto the Z4...a specific ISO Lead?

Not quite - you need a further adaptor from brodit for your device which screws onto that platform.

platform/clip shown is tailored to the car, all brodit device adaptors then fit the tailored platform... it isnt a cheap option either, but it is a clean install...

In the zed I use a vent mount along with a TomTom ONE holder which just happens to fit the brodit adaptor for my phone...

in our other car, I have the brodit mount/clip as well as the adaptor...

can be quite confusing...
 
Just having a quick look on ebay...this seems to replicate whats in the picture provided by taz...

Looks to have the platform ans specific clip...is that correct..

that is just the platform as in Taz's Pic...

Parrot holders - doesnt look like they do a holder for the MKI9200 :(
 
Roger...looks like I'll just roll on the standard holder for the screen then, to be fair it doesn't look to bad.

Also am I right in thinking that all you require for install is a BMW Z4 ISO Lead?

if its on the screen, the sun can sometimes be a pain, it can make the screen harder to see
