Parrot mki9100 help

Hi guys

My car has a Parrot mki9100 fitted by a previous owner, which is now being temperamental.

The screen will go blank randomly. If this happens when using my phone during a call or while streaming music from my phone, the sound will stop coming from the car speakers. To fix this I simply lift the screen from it's mount and place it straight back on. This then powers the screen back on and starts my phone music or call to once again come from the car speakers within a few seconds.

Does anyone have any prior knowledge/experience with this device? It appears to me that it's a loose connection. Should the screen click into place? Mine just slides on and off with no resistance. Which doesn't seem quite right. A new screen is £75 and the screen mount around £28. I'd rather not spend that if I can avoid it.

Any help greatly appreciated

I have the same Parrot and have had to replace the controller, although the display screen can be quite temperamental too.
I got them from this place and found them helpful “JustCarKits”

Click onto Frequently Asked Questions and see if there’s anything there.

There used to be a forum which I was on but can’t seem to find it now and JustCarKits were part of it and always came up with answers to problems.

Have you tried replacing the battery in the controller?

IIRC there's a small screw on the back that you can tighten to permanently mount the screen if you dont need to remove it, I'm sure that's what I've done on mine (screens mounted in the ashtray so you can pull the cover across so you dont see it) that way once its got a good connection between screen and mount it doesn't move from that.

Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I actually bought a new controller as replacing the battery didn't help. That was when I first got the car and I could pair my phone. But now that part works great. It's the screen that switches off then drops calls back to my handset. :x

I had a look but can't see where I could screw the two parts together :headbang:

If I could, then I definitely would as I would happily keep the screen in place. I also like the sound of your ashtray mount. Keeps the car interior looking more OEM. Something I like. I'll try uploading a couple of images to show my confusion regarding screwing them together.

I did take a few photos of the mki9100 in the ashtray when I was toying with the idea of fitting a mki9200 instead. Sorry they're not brilliant but give you the idea

Heres one of the screen and controller. Both fitted in the ashtray.

That looks great MACK. If I get the screen working properly I think I will move it to the ashtray

Just out of interest, do you know if you can fit the mki9200 screen to the mki9100 system?
