Parallel parking has to be the worst for damage, the number of times I have seen people simply shunt another car or scrape the corner of one as they manoeuvre and drive off...
Especially in Pimlico!

I like ASDA in burton on trent as it has lots of odd spaces, which are at angles or you park behind each other. It is not the nearest by far, but you can normally get a space where no-one parks next to you. M&S leicester is full of idiots swinging doors open, previous cars been caught there numerous times, wont take the M there unless it really quiet.
Even better get yourself another car, just got a DISCO with side steps (not sure sidesteps would suit a Z4  ). I am as paranoid with that as i am my M, but to my delight i can put the suspension up and most small euro boxes doors will actually hit the side step first before the car. As i was coming back to my car after a couple of days of owning it, i was horrified to see a car next to me (I parked a long way away) in Sainsburys, with kids in the back swinging the door open, was just about to go and sort it out, when the mother realised her little darling had swung it open and the bottom hit my side steps, no apology or anything. Fortunately her door came off worse.![]()
People squezze into small spaces because they cannot be bothered to walk across a carpark and people park next to you when there are loads of other spaces. It drives me mad. to inconsiderate people.

Parked for probably about 20 mins tops, car was over the imaginary white line, see second photo for how bad it was. I parked there regularly to stop door dinks at least on my drivers side!
£70 ticket, which I contested and they refused the contest. Turns out they are building on the site and were probably generating revenue for it. :x Be careful when parking "defensively".

You're just down the road from me Booner; I work for a US IT company on the MoD site out at Arncott - no parking problems there, in summer I can leave the roof down and the car unlocked all day, cos if you go near it someone will shoot at you! LOL

Ah, I think a friend of mine works there...Luke Thorne? if that rings any bells?! I work over in Bicester, nice secure inside....but if you were to leave your car outside with the roof down, I am sure some Chavs would start using it as a rubbish bin or something! I've probably spotted you driving around at some point?

Keeps the car within the space and just looks like an untidy parking job, but it increases the clearance to the next car significantly. Turning the tyre out also gives a bit of insurance against corner scrapes when someone is backing out of the next spot and not paying attention to their clearances.

It's easy to live with OCD - you just use the experience of others with OCD to be more efficient - called AII (Anal Information Interchange)AlanJ said:aerobod said:I always try and park in an end spot, back into the spot with the rear tyre about 5cm from the kerb, front tyre about 30cm from the kerb with the wheel fully turned out. Was going to look up the characteristics of someone with OCD but I've stopped looking.........![]()
