Parking Sensor Strangeness

A couple of years ago the nearside rear parking sensor stopped working. Checking with my finger there was no vibration compared to the other 3. I bought a replacement from ebay but it didn't work either but did vibrate. It's replacement worked fine.

A couple of weeks ago it started playing up again and so I ordered another from Ebay <£9. It vibrated but didn't work :headbang:

By now I have 4 sensors, the oem one and 3 ebay ones. I tried them in position 2 ( next to the nearside one) and the ebay ones all worked. The oem one still didn't work and so that went in the bin to save confusion.
So, I put the oem one in position 1 and the painted ebay one that was in position 1 in position 2 ( if you are still with me :) )

All working again.

The intravee display is very useful for checking the sensors.

So, my thoughts are that the ebay ones are borderline spec wise and position 1 being at the end of the sensor loom exacerbates this?

True, but I don't like things that don't work properly and the long beep every time I went into reverse was annoying.

Can't disagree with that logic. Car beeps drive me nuts too.
