Parking sensor replacement cost

Recently when I put my zed in reverse there is a loud continuous beep. I think one of the sensors is going. Anyone know approx how much this may cost to diagnose and fix?

Get someone to put it in reverse, put your ear next to each sensor, you'll hear them ticking...the one that doesn't tick will need replacing :)

has any paint flaked off any of them? I had this on a previous bmw and it was caused by paint flaking off, I understand they put thinner paint on the sensors, although I may be wrong.

I better have a look

Mine did the same, got a sensor off ebay for 15 delivered brand new. You don't need to start the car just turn on the ignition and put it in reverse. Ear up to each sensor. As mentioned the one that isn't clicking is fooked. Mines an 06 mr so will be the same as yours. Mine is now fixed :)

pick a quiet moment on your road to look and listen closely to your back bumper... :P

And how much is that then?

The sensor is about £15 - £35 (plenty on eBay) , and £120 from dealer but:

- Needs painting
- Bumper off

Non BMW dealer about £150.

Before you go there, do what Woots suggested and use a hairdryer to dry the sensor. You don't need to start the car to check the sensors, just ignition on and put in reverse.

As asa aside - do people recommend the parking sensors? After my scrape i'm thinking about getting them installed? Though i don't want a hard time for installing 'girl aids'..

They are ok. I think they would be more useful on the front.

True! I totally don't need them at the back. I have no idea still how long my bonnet is however.

Just treat it like what blokes think about their manhood - think it is much bigger than it really is :D

It's fine though because size doesn't matter right?... Right?.. Someone?!
