Parking low life....

This is terrible news and I feel your pain.

I really do!

90% empty car park, you park miles from the entrance. What more could you have done.

I'd be inclined to ask if the CCTV covers the area, as you'd easily see if another car had parked there.

I parked near a Z3 the other night in Sinsbury's. He was parked properly over 1 space, so I did my usual and took 2 spaces!!!!!

Was in a hire car on holiday once with my dad and we parked up, he just flew his door open (proper codger style) and it rebounded off the car next to us. Embarrassing thing was, the people in that car were just getting out and the driver gave my dad real evils. My dad had absolutely no idea that he'd done anything, and I'm sure if the other guy had said something, my dad would've denied all knowledge. Luckily though, the other guy didn't do anything, I assume it was also a hire car (Florida). But this just shows that people dont give a f**k, or simple just dont realise it...which is no excuse!

I've tried to train Deb about this, but I've seen her parked in the supermarket in the middle, in 1 space. NOT AT THE EDGE OVER 2 AS I DO!!!!

There are some spaces on the end of rows in my local Sainsbury's (they just have hashed lines next to them on one side). I park over the line and in the hashed area, so even if someone does park half a mile away from the entrance next to me they don't open their door on my car!

^^ I have the same parking bays that I use, but I normally get my shopping delivered.... can't be doing with supermarkets... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

If you ever come back and find your car keyed, you'll know exactly why they did it!

I find that in my local supermarket car park there tends to be an area at the far end where higher value cars park. The owners are more careful than your average and so far my zed hasn't suffered any dings in my weekly shopping trips.

Is it a Lidl or an Aldi? :poke:

Would have thought the Co-Op sign was a bit of a clue

You do have to be careful parking over 2 spaces as depending on who owns the carpark you could legitimately receive a ticket but as said worse still have your car keyed or someone deliberably parking up the side of you so you can't get in your car as it does wind people up.

I had a good one in the Z3 a few months back, had to call into another local food store and they have an area of the car park with no marked bays against a brick wall, so I parked nose in against the wall at a 45 degree angle to stop anyone parking close to me. Its well away from the main car park. Came back and a chappie had parked his transit right next to me so close he'd blocked me in so i couldn't reverse out. Luckily he was walking from the van and I went over to him and said "good bit of parking" he just tutted and went back and moved the van. I think he completely oblivious to how close he had parked :headbang:

Are you 100% it was done on the car park at that time, just seems odd unless someone deliberately did the deed. If it bothers you like it does me then get a second car or do all your shopping online and never go out :D

Likewise, if the carpark was as empty as described I find it hard to believe someone would go to the effort of parking far away next to you... surely more likely it occured elsewhere and you just didn't notice?

Neighbour got upset last week when the postman knocked his bag against her son's car whilst walking to the front door... was a 458 Italia mind lol. Makes you think though... even on a driveway a car is exposed.

Regarding the parking over two spaces thing... I'm all for defensive parking, but that can attract the wrong kind of attention...

I got a ticket last month in Northampton for illegal parking.... they cancelled it when I sent them the correct pics showing their spaces are actually too small for my car (Audi S8) and that they are actually under the 'guidelines' for both length and width...

The guideline dimensions would be a useful thing to know...

the car park had 240 spaces... there was about 3 cars in the whole place at the time...

guidelines that I found, and used state that a space should be at least 7.9 by 15.7 feet...

the spaces in that car park.... 7.6 by 15.2 feet...

Yeah, that the fucker that did it is a sad c**t who has no respect for other people's property. Yes, I'll know why they did it!

True, it can wind people up and normally I do it right at the edge of the car park, but although it may be seen as ignorant, it no way warrants criminal damage...which is what I'm trying to avoid! If there are other spaces available that are closer to the store, why do people take offence?

I know they do, just sayin that's all.

I believe that supermarkets etc cannot enforce a fine / penalty without some very expensive legal work. Thus if you ignore them, they will go away.
