Parking Distance Control

I park at the same spot, same cars on both sides, same motorbike at the end, same speed, etc. Sometimes the PDC beeps, and actually most of the time it doesn’t. Yesterday I reversed parallel parking, no beep.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Sorry I don't have the answer to your question but it looked ripe for a little banter :P Someone with a more sensible answer will be along shortly...maybe :D

It will only beep if you actually get close enough for something for the sensors to pick it up - if you stick it in reverse for example in a wide open space, you won't get a beep. Possibly sometimes when you park you get closer to the car/motorbike than other times?

Water droplets can confuse the sensors too - though this generally makes them beep when they shouldn't be.

I'm actually very impressed with the sensors - the iDrive display is bang on accurate in my experience, very useful when reversing into a tight garage and trying not to hit any number of obstacles inside.

Have you checked that each sensor is working? If you get someone to sit in the car and put it into reverse, you can go round and listen to each one click (bit like a bat's sonar)

If you turn the ignition on but don’t start it then you should be able to put it in reverse and check it in your own
