Park brake failure

Hi I have an error showing up saying park brake failure. I read somewhere that this can be due to low power in the battery. Recently, due to doing short runs, ie 2 miles max, my battery shows up as low quite regularly. How can I tell if it is? Also, is this a problem for a BMW dealer to fix? I am in Leatherhead area if anyone knows a good BMW speciali

It does seem that low battery voltage is your problem, here’s a link to a post on the problem

I’ve just had the same problem but luckily had the software to repair it myself
 
I've not had that issue as my BMWs have all been older models with mechanical handbrakes, but I've had a few random electrical issues when batteries were running low.

They did a job on my sister's R50 Mini soon after she bought it and she was more than happy, but has now found another specialist within walking distance of home.
