Pans for induction hobs

We're changing from gas to induction and while our existing pans are compatible it'd be nice to get a new set (brownie points with the wife ;) ). Any advice on what is good to get. I know a few people who have these Circulon pans and like them:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Circulon-Infinite-Anodised-Cookware-5-Piece/dp/B0018S13MM/ref=sr_1_10?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1440925817&sr=1-10&keywords=induction+pans

I also quite like the look of the copper/stainless steel pans:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Qudos-Marketing-12-Piece-Stainless-Cookware/dp/B00Y0XPLYI/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1440926143&sr=1-4&keywords=pans+stainless+steel+copper

Thing is I am no expert on this sort of thing so I thought I'd ask and see if some are better than others etc...

Can't help on the pans, sorry, but I have to admire your brownie points scoring attempt

My better half here says buy her some copper bottom pans, thicker the better and the brownie points should come tumbling in. :D

Cool, thanks guys... reading some reviews on Amazon... who'd of thought there was so much science to a pan?! :)

I don't use induction hobs but as far as I'm aware you cannot use copper pans.
They need to be steel, stainless, cast iron, etc. you'd have to use a ferrous interface turning it into a conventional hob, so pretty pointless...

Our friend uses the Circulaon and is happy with them.

We use the circulon pans on our induction hob, ours are Premier Professional range, good pans and are wearing well, only problem I can see with ours is they are very deep for the diameter so it's a bit like cooking down a hole. Also there are rings on the inside at the bottom that over time don't allow you to clean them as well as i'd like ( but that could be the wife's technique).
So try and get smooth bases on the inside.
All in all though once you get used to induction it's great and gets a big  from me.

Have a dilemma with our induction hob.Now I've had a pacemaker fitted,Im not allowed to go near it when we are cooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Has it's plus points, but long run we will have to get rid.Our pans are iittala, they came as a set with the hob ,which is a seimens induction hob.I will miss it as I think it's much better than gas.

Never mind the pans, why are you changing from gas?!
I've just gone from induction back to gas and it's so much better.

Heavy bottom pans are best imo and I would get some a Stellar 7000, they are ace.

To be honest it's mainly aesthetics, it looks a lot nicer and is much easier to keep clean. When I cook I tend to make mess and it's a right faff trying to keep a gas hob clean... with induction it's much easier. Interesting though, you're the only person I have met who has not got on with induction, everyone else has said they loved it.

We had induction in our last place, and gas here. We bought a full set of Meyer pans. Nice and heavy weight and very good.

The only issues we found with induction was getting a frying pan for it as most seem to be aluminium.

get a magnet the better it sticks to the bottom of the pan the better it will work , not all induction pans work as i found out to our cost, and price does not make a better pan had our induction for a year now not keen on it wish we had not brought one, control over your cooking is not good,

Man there was me thinking all induction 'suitable' pans were the same.... can confirm they are definitely not and the idea of seeing if a magnet has more affinity for the base makes sense. I have a Le Creuset toughened non-stick pan and a WMF pressure cooker. The WMF heats up in a fraction of the time of the Le Creuset!!

Shocked! Pick your pan carefully!

Went for a dual fuel gas and induction hob though as there are some things only gas can do!

Cheers JC :D
