Sounds more like a car park type ding to me, i wouldnt let this put me off, one thing about those rac checks is they are incredibly thorough, if this was the worst he can find under very close scrutiny then the car is probably a good one with the exception of a bit of very well done paintwork.. You could do a lot worse

When I bought the 35is in Aug 2016 it was was at the end of the run and it was very well specced - It was always intended as a keeper and the last of the E89 range . I specifically told them NO Number plate screws . I was on holiday in Germany when I got the pictures of the new car with four big self tappers ......!
I can say it spoiled my last week of holiday - I drove from the ferry to the dealership. I was annoyed!

It's got the PPP which is a 5k option (forged internals from the sls) the extra carbon bits such as splitter, spoiler etc. So its got what it needs for a resale. It has the optional better 19inch wheels and the performance brakes.
It's got the secondary cat delete, a msl tune (525bhp) and he put a qualiff diff in last year so these are about 2k all in. It's been de-cromed. He has put a 507 bonnet on it (it has the intakes and is worth 1k plus) and had the running lights and grill from the 507 too.
It's priced right with the options at 24k. There are others that are cheaper but no where near as desirable in terms of factory and additional mods which tbh I would be putting a diff and the map on myself when I could afford too.
I have seen PPP cars with the same mileage from a dealer for 3k ish more so it's not priced cheap but it's not over the top.
Guy seems a genuine car guy and I have chatted to him on the phone for an hour and have been shooting messages across to each other for the last week or so.
Never got a bad taste or hint of malice from him in that time.

This makes it even more likely I’d by it because it’s not as if you’re thinking the car’s all original paint as you already knew it’d had panels replaced, and painted and this find is tainting your thoughts on an original paint car.
