Hi everyone

Im after a bit of 'personalisation' on my Z. (its not my car till ive modded it slightly :))

Im interested in an induction kit...mostly for the nice noise...will power loss be noticable? if its only noticed on a dyno run but not whilst driving then i dont mind.

ALSO

How can i get a better noise from the exhaust without a £800 set up.

AND

///M front bumper or aero front bumper???..

ONE MORE

Whats an ///M steering wheel like? ive heard theyre 'better' that a standard one but how? My Renaultsport Clio 197 had a gorgeous stitched leather wheel which felt so nice i doubt il find another one like it

I think the M sport/ M wheel is the best steering wheel i have ever used! Def a worthy upgrade.

M bumper for me.... As for the induction noise how about the sound gen mod?

If you don't want to spend much money, then the cheapest option for exhaust noise would be to either remove the baffles in your existing silencer or fit the bypass pipe.

Open intake may lose power as it won't be taking advantage of the ram air effect the airbox gives - but it might only be a 10bhp loss at 60mph. You'll have to decide whether it's worth it or not. But there's no doubt it will make the intake noise louder. Cheapest option is just to remove the airbox and fit a large (preferably dry) cone filter.

Front bumper will cost a bit whichever one you go for - around £300 I'd estimate.

Don't know the difference between an ///M wheel and a non-///M one as I've only every driven the ///M.

Sound generator mod, don't waste ££ on a filter! M steering wheel has a nicer chunky feel and defiantly the AERO bumper... //M bumper has no fog lights and I like fog lights, you can most probably get fog fitted but the AERO uses existing ;)

and what is a sound generator mod?

how easy is it to remove baffles. and anyone know anyone who can fit a bypass?

and do all of the above affect the MOT?

I did the ///M steering wheel mod a few weeks ago, definitely worth the money in my book :-)
Her is before and after pictures.

Sound generator mod is a bit tricky you have a 2.5 right? Only the 3.0l cars have them. But they can be it ted to any 6 cylinder zed I think. The sound generator is just a pipe that comes off the intake and connects to the fire wall. You can remove foam baffles to adjust induction noise in the cabin.

Bypass pipes are just pipes that by pass the back box ( it's all in the name ) it's a cheap thing to buy but it's fitting that can be a problem. You have to remove the back box drill 4 holes and then weld the pipes in place.
