So how do these work then and are there other types of spacers that aren't hub centric? Do they literally just sandwich between the wheel and hub and are held in place by longer bolts? Any safety concerns with moving the wheels further out? Can spacers fail? Sorry for the questions, but am interested in improving my 'stance' but only if there are no pitfalls...

Depending on the spacers selected you may need longer bolts. Have newer heard of a failure in a spacer.......
I have 5mm on the front a 10mm on the back with ACS wheels to provide the necessary clearance for shocks, springs etc and to give a slightly wider stance to my Zed.

I would only use hubcentric ones  effectively the lip the wheel sits on is moved outward & still has a safe seating but if flush faced spacers then no lip once you go over 10mm ? Not good imo

Mr Wilks!! Top draw!! I never minded how you handled them and of no use to myself so thats very nice of you! Its nice when things like this happen and I recently gave away a sandwich adapter on another forum too with proceeds going to that particular forum everyones a winner.

So once more . .
