painting wheel weights

One of my wheel weights has become a bit rusty and unsightly looking..is painting over them going to negatively impact the balance of the wheel, its literally going to be a few strokes of silver touch up paint but I've no idea how much it will be..surely no more than a gram?

I've seen balance weights on race cars (at club level at least) often taped over without any issues so I imagine paint wouldn't be a problem.

If you get 'light' coloured paint you'll be fine.

go for it. a bit of paint is going to be nowhere near even a gram, i'd guess less than 0.1g. possibly even 0.01g.

At one time they where lead. Now steel. I just paint them.

I’ve just cleaned up my old alloys… found a bit of wire wool and t-cut brings the balance weights back to shiny, if you’ve the patience’s and tar remover is great at getting rid of old sticky from previously fitted weights. A
