Hey, after getting my new brakes on, I will paint the wheel hubs black to hide the OEM rust. Anyone here done this? Picures and descriptions would greatly help, Thanks in advance  :)

I've just posted this in response to someone else's enquiry.

How about getting them coated in zinc, nickel or some other hard wearing metallic?
I wouldn't put these coatings on the disc itself as some people do, but will be fine on the hubs & even the calipers.

mmm-five, I thought of doing that but I prefer a DIY solution that will take me 1 day max :)
JackB1, thanks Jack  Ill go for black too, any reccomendations for paint type? Does it have to be heat resistant?

It amazes me that BMW sell cars that have rusty hubs after 12 months. I have painted them with silver hammerite on my previous Z4 my current X5 and my mate's 335i. Seems to do the trick and lasts well. Z4M doesn't seem to need the hubs or brakes painting.

sammyz, yeah me I was shocked too that BMW is not capable of getting it sorted out since Z4s are not really cheap cars... :? How did you manage to get the rust and dirt off of them before you painted them? Hammerite is a well spread brand here in cz that I use on my fences, sounds like a good choice. :) thnx
