Painting small parts

How much are people typically paying to get small bits like parking sensors, headlight washer covers, towing eye covers etc painted?

Hi Rockhopper
Have you considered getting smaller items wrapped.
I work at Black Magic car detailing tints and wraps in Carlisle. I have just recently purchased 2 new parking sensors for my Montego blue zed, I could only get black ones so have looked through our comprehensive books of swatches and there at least 3 colours more or less a perfect match. This could be an option for you if you have a wrapper in your area. Will post photos of my wrapped sensors when done👍😄

Hi, actually i was considering offering a painting service to members! I have an airbrush, compressor etc set up for making small models. I used it to spray my own parking sensor and washer cover using paint from a Halfords touch up kit (primer, colour and then clear coat). Its a prefect match but really only suitable for small parts - a mirror for example would be too big for my small airbrush.

If i had an idea of how much people have paid at a paint shop I could see if its viable. The kits are about £8.50 and there is enough paint to do quite a few parts. Then postage, thinners, my time etc. .. Probably not a goer really when you add it all up!

I'd do it yourself (as indeed I have). So the cost of three aerosols from Halfords - primer, colour coat and laquer. And you'll have plenty of paint left over for any other 'small bits' that crop up...
