Painting Interior Lock Release Handles

G'day everyone, has anyone painted those with good result? Not the door pull handles, these are the internal lock release handles - originally in polished chrome. Probably not going to get the factory chrome finish, but would settle for matte silver or similar - would it last? how many coats? should I bother with the top coat? I've got them sanded and have a primer but haven't done any painting before, any recommendations would be helpful!

I painted mine with a gunmetal grey. I used 3 coats of Dupli-Color spray paint with no topcoat and have had no issues over the last 3-4 years.

Personally I would wrap in subtle aluminium carbon look...will be alot more resistant to rings etc etc
Dont have a lot of experience with wraps but wouldn't it be a pita to wrap something that small? I am talking about the silver lock handles, not the large door handles - mine are wrapped in alcantara already!
