they just prise off, be careful though you could pull your fingernails apartchaz668 said:Interesting thread. How do thee covers come apart? I'd be interested as i was thinking of attaching a clear perspex windblocker but need to get at the rollbar to attach the fixings to.
Wet flat the covers with 800 grade then two coats of gey high build primer, wet flat with 1000 grade then i primed with white primer wet flat 1000 grade then applied three coats of colour allowing the paint to flash off between coats, allow to dry thoroughly, i left them for three days, any contamination can be nibbed out with 2000 or 3000 grade then compounded to a high gloss. It`s long winded but the results are worth it, imo. You can get all the materials inc paint and primers from the likes of halfords etc.Z4-35i said:rayz4,
Very impressed with the quality of your paintwork. Any tips on getting a great finish like this? Did you use a special plastic promoter or primer?
No clear coat , just a light flat back with 3000 grade abranet pad and machine compound with 3m fastcut, then hand finish with 3m hand glaze.Z4-35i said:Thanks, the effort shows in the results. Did you use a clear coat to finish off or is the high gloss shine just from the final compound cutting?

Even silver cf wrap in the back and alcantara in the front to match his custom alcantara interior iirc.

This one is my favorite though and what I would like for my black Z4. It isn't glossy but he added texture so it looks much better and uniform with the rest of the cars interior.
