Painted my calipers today

Marlon, I'm sorry to piss on your thread, but that kind of attitude and knowledge gets me wound up.
FWIW there's nothing really wrong with painting calipers in situ, but for the small effort of removing them from the carrier it's not really worth not doing that in mine (and most) peoples opinion. Anyway, point was don't flame anyone (least of all a mod) for trying to give constructive advice.
Some people just seem to take things the wrong way

Things do seem to get blown out of proportion on here very quickly

Good work on the caliper painting 2.0, Marlon  did you change the pads?

Cheers Ben, no I didn't change the pads - the fix involved one of these

it makes me really sad for a supposed 'community' the amount of 'nit picking' that goes on here, This thread and the wheel brace one being prime examples.

It makes you think, why would anyone bother posting up what they've been up to, or doing a little DIY guide , if evertime they do, they get shot down in flames? Some people really need to have a word with themselves & think before opening their keyboard mouth if they've nothing constructive or pleasant to say. Its easy to knock something, or even give someone some friendly advice, but the way somethings are written on here dont half look patronising or condescending
What an unbelievable chump you are.
You firstly have a go at a mod (who takes a hell of a lor more time than you do to make this site what it is) for his apparent 'attitude' issue, where in actual fact he was only being helpful in suggesting the correct way to do the job.
You then actually go and do the job how everyone who has an ounce of sense suggests you should do it.
Take your 'DIYS' and opinions off to those other sites that love you so much pal if you get so offended when someone calls your BS.
Unbelievable!

Thanks for the post and I'm sorry if I've offended you or anyone else for that matter,

I shan't be returning to the Z4 forum anymore

Good luck to everyone & nice to meet some of you

all the best,

Jamie

WOW!! REALLY!! Hope you reconsider Jamie. :o

Ye the forum is really getting out of hand these days. I have to admit I don't agree with the points made about calliper painting but berating members is getting far to common on the forum these days.

People need to take a step back!

Worst thing that will happen is the paint finish disintegrates, two minutes with a Dremel and your back to the metal. Chill.
