Painted Calipers - Express Yourself !

Is it actually easy to do?
Coz saddo here got his mechanic to fit the spacers on the old zed.
Is it literally a wire brush and then paint? Or am I really that dense when it comes to this sort of thing?

It's easy buddy
Block of wood
Trolly jack.
Loosen nuts
Jack car at rear both will lift off floor.
Remove wheels and I place wood under ball joints at front n lower Jack a bit to stabilise car.
Brake cleaner on calipers, up to you, but i removed and cleaned pads and rails regreased then refitted
Halfords vht black lacquer I used with a 1cm brush and carefully painted it and then hopped to front and repeat
Then bounce back to rear as would've gone off enough for second coat :)
I take time when work on mine as don't want to rush
So each side max 1hour taking time and of course clean inside of wheels and arches
Do it

Just to see what it would look like

Did mine recently with Halfords Caliper paint. Two coats and it looks nice. Also lots of paint left for any recoating.

Im quite tempted to do that Eddy - have you got a list of what's needed? I'm assuming that is your car...

Hi Steve, it is my car. I didn't even know there was an ///M print on the callipers until it was pointed out to me so I thought I'd just have a play. I already have the colours in my Smart Repair paint system or colours that I have mixed already so it was pretty easy for me. I haven't even done all four :o . You could either get the paints mixed at your local body shop or paint supplier or a simpler way maybe would be to get the colours in nail varnish form.

ok, that sounds fine, I guess nail varnish was a joke mind...unlikely to survive the heat cycles presumably...
Would Halfrauds make brake paint tho?
