Carpro dlux wheel treatment and painted calipers Russo red using Foliatec kit . Bilt hamber hydrate 80 rust converter to dust shields, springs and anything rusty. Then painted with hammerite satin black

Keep in mind the rear calipers are steel and rust will break through unless you give them several coats.
The fronts are alloy so less of a problem.

Done the DIY route on all my older cars. Left calipers in situ, wire brush, brake cleaner and a tin of halfords high temp caliper paint. Just brushed it on using small brushes. Put a few coats on. Seems to last 3-4 years before needing doing again. Much improved and unless you have the wheels off cant really tell its diy with a brush. As others have said, worth first try for minimal cost.

Since this question has been pretty much ignored.... Apologies for the others not giving it attention....

I love the term DIY Inertia - that's the key to this decision...

1. Do I want to spend my time or my money?
2. How much money is this worth to me to have at the quality of result that I desire?
3. Am I capable or dedicated enough to do the work required?
4. If I break something in the process, am I able to deal with it?
5. After I start, when do I need to use the Z4 again?
6. Do I consider DIY a fun adventure or a terrifying pain in the arse?

... This one is on my list, I'll do it when I renew the rotors and brake pads. My DIY inertia is -- I don't want to start taking things apart unless I plan on rebuilding it. So if I'm taking off the calipers to paint them, they are going to be stripped, parts cleaned, new seals, pistons, etc.

With my color deep sea bleue, it wil either be OEM invisible, black or yellow.
