Paint shield

Hi,

I have just had the sills if my Z4 resprayed due to road rash but now want to protect them with paint shield film. I am struggling to find someone who can supply the film already cut out. Wondered if anyone had applied the film to their E89 sills, if so could you let me know who provided the film?

Cheers

Sharon

Have you tried contacting PaintShield in Peterborough? Their website is here; I know they do kits, but may be able to help with your query?

Hi Mark

Yes I tried them but they want £600 which I thought was a little steep.

Thanks for replying though.

I have similar concerns about the road rash I can see in the future with this car.
I have actually purchased this kit already, but have not yet applied it:

I've looked at the Paint Defender before - its only just become available in the UK (here) but you pay a massive UK premium on the product (£36.50 vs $24.99, incl. local shipping). If you can arrange shipping from the US, its a lot cheaper... Amazon.com wouldn't ship to the UK previously though (something about restrictions for inflammable liquids)

Definitely a cheaper alternative than £600 though

Looks interesting. They sell it at Walmart, might have to pick a couple of cans up next month.

I just bought a couple of cans from a dealer in Germany. Cheaper than shipping from the US and no customs charges. Hopefully 2 cans will be enough to do both skirts and the bumper. Apparently 1 x can covers 9 square feet.

Also bought a Plasti-kote trigger from Amazon. It's exactly the same trigger that 3M use at a fraction of the price. The only thing different is the missing 3M logo on the side!

I had my front end and boot lip done by this company. they use the 3M Venture shield product and they are so easy going, i'm confident that they'll do as you ask.
