I have lots whizzing around my head right now!! Buy a z4mc would love to but it would have to be a cat registered car!!
option 1 get the paint work sorted on mine the same colour silver probably doing most of it my self (I am confident i can get a good finish)
option 2wrap the car another colour probably leaning towards a dark red??

Anyone know much about wraps? My paint is rubbish so i am not bothered about damaging that if when i remove in. How do you clean it just as normal? Can you do you polish it?

Out there option 3 hows about matt silver with satin black grills and bits and bobs?

Discus and advise forum family................

Wrap is always really orange peely so please don't! I think you should paint it the same as my wheels!
Really easy to paint, or maybe another matt / satin colour. But definitely paint!

If you have the equipment and ability to paint it yourself, go for it - what have you got to lose apart from the cost of the paint?

If it doesn't work out, you could always look at a wrap.

I'm hearing the words of Kenny Rogers ( The Gambler  ) in my head mate " YOU GOTTA KNOW WHEN TO HOLD EM , & WHEN TO FOLD EM " :P
Get your Z running sweet , get it looking presentable for some pics & fling it on Ebay .
Whatever cash you spend on it you will still want the M so save towards that

Never had a wrap personally, but know a few people that have. Wrap for me is amazing, change your ride for a resonable amount of money, but at the end of the day it's wrap!

Everyone I know that's had wrap has to go back a few times because of a crease or bubble or something. Personally if you can paint, paint

I have worked out that if you do 3 exhausts a week, you will have your M sooner rather than later

Matt

I was really keen on getting my roof wrapped for a while but I've now seen a few examples in particular a mini owned by the guy who was going to wrap my roof - he wrapped the mini in chrome wrap and tbh it's a mess

So I off the idea - perhaps paint it?

It's not so shiny like yours now JE.

Thanks spikey a wrap dose seem like a plaster over the problem. That kinda confirms my worry!

You can't wrap over your paint pal.

The paint has to be immaculate for the wrap to be done well.

Even stone chips show up under a wrap.
Paint also helps with adhesion etc.

Spray it, will always look much better then if you want a change wrap it knowing full well your paint is sitting pretty underneath.

I think that if you are planning to sell it in the near future you should not either wrap it or paint it. Both of these could make the buyer suspicious about the condition of the car and it could easily devalue it. Just a suggestion... :tumbleweed:

Fair point I think I am just going to go for the bonnet and bumper done. And spend some time getting the rest of the paint all clean and shiny.

Sod the wrap.

Once it starts to peel, you'll get that sinking feeling that it's letting down all your hard work!

do all the panels different colours?

the bonnet is aluminium so annodise it?

rat car rust and bullet hole wrap?

burberry and flames?

something heraldic on the sides, a gruphon and a shield/ coat of arms.

enjoy yourself.
