Hi guys when I bought my zed a few months ago I new it had some stone chips on the front panel
So I have taken it to a bodywork man and he has pointed out that the chips are also on the front of the bonnet and wings I just thought they would Polish out didn't look to bad to me
Anyway I have been having so much fun driving it with the hood down that it didn't really bother me that much
Any way I have booked it in next week to have the front end painted here r some pics to see the the chips and a new badge
I will keep u updated

I'm getting my bonnet done and blended into the 2 wings in 2 weeks due to stone chips that have been badly touched up and spoil the look of the car. Thought I could live with them but no so car will be mint in a couple of weeks. Can't wait. Once done I'll send some before and after photos

What are you paying guys? if you don't mind me asking. I had the chips away man out to look at mine a month or so back and he told me can't do. So I need the front end doing too.

£350 cash from a friend of a friend who did my girlfriends car a couple of years ago when it got keyed and he did a fab job so hopefully he will with mine. Got another quote from a local body shop and they wanted £750 plus vat and BMW approved body shop wanted £2100 inc vat which is insulting but on their very long breakdown they said they were taking the bumper off for some reason. Maybe they got my quote mixed up with someone else's. I think £400 for a bonnet is the going price when I googled prices

I am payingoing £500 to paint bonnet, both wings and front valance panel. Independent guy, I have seen his work and he is mustard no worries. hope that helps

Be very carefull on this " blending in". In otherwords the paint colour cannot be matched properly so in the case of the bonnet they spray the tops of the wings. I have had this done on two cars and in the end I sold them as I could see the different paint colours and it really bothered me.

Hi mike sounds like z will be looking good back from my hols now if you you still fancy a meet pm. Free in the day look forward to pics of zed after paint job

dont bother with spraying, just use a tin of hamarite & a paint brush as per forum advice :?

I have done this on a few daily drives, in the past. You can never get the metallic flecks, in the paint, to line up with the rest of the bonnet, so the repair stands out like a sore thumb, in the wrong light. This is why I have left mine for so long. worried it will look worse after it's been done.

Inclined to agree - my first zed was titanium silver - had the front bumper resprayed and came out well - my current car is sterling grey - being 12 years old it does have a few very minor stone chips that I have touched in - you wouldn't notice unless you looked up close - I don't intend to have the front resprayed for the reasons given - all the paint is original - better in my view to keep it that way .
