Paint finish

My new-to-me E85 was recently purchased out of state. There are 62,000 miles on it and it has been very well maintained. I used Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax on it, and noticed there is a slight grittiness to the finish, almost like overspray. There are no signs of paint or body work... just this unusual finish. Can anyone tell me if this is uncommon? It's silver gray, looks great, just feels weird.

Try a clay mitt on your next wash, my daily i bought last year the paint felt like sandpaper, its just contaminants in the paint, a good wash with the clay mitt and it was silky smooth again

...and once you've decontaminated the paint you could do no worse than invest in a decent DA and give it a good detail!
Meguiars Ultimate Compound & Polish is highly regarded on this forum as well as by me, especially after recently getting into detailing.
