Paint Correction, dent removal & extensive detail required

Hi all,

Having had a nice blast out in the ///M yesterday I noticed what a bad state the paint is in.

This goes to show that a low mileage car isn't always pristine and it appears that our ///M has had a bit of a hard life in it's 37,000 miles.

There are perhaps 3 'shopping car park' dinks on the body work. All of which are quite noticeable as they are near the door handles and the rear quarter.

The paint is swirled, scratched and even has some bird poop damage on the top of the bonnet close to the windscreen.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the south(east) where someone can take some time to restore this beauty back to it's former glory? We're willing to travel (within reason) for the right place. Any suggestions would be welcome.

You can see three dinks fella, there's probably five or six! :o
Although I can't offer any advice about a south coast detailer, if you have some time on your hands, you can do it yourself for maybe the same price as an expert will charge - less in many instances and you'll have the kit for life (ok, that does depend on how long you live so I could be wrong). You'll get to know the car better and it will give you some pride - probably a sore back too, mind. The biggest factor is the time, however. If you don't have time or the inclination, get a pro/semi-pro to sort it for you. Get some advice from him directly as to how to take care of it after he's worked his magic :scratchhead: - most of us do the damage ourselves without realising it (apart from the dinks, of course). And take pics once he's done it! :) :camera:
Not that I follow this kind of stuff particularly closely but your signature says you have a 2.5. If you have an M, congrats, brilliant aren't they! Change sig?

For the dinks try Dent Wizard (dentwizard.co.uk). Local guy to me was out on Friday and removed 3 dents from the passenger door. Took him about 30 minutes and charged £60.00. Really impressed with the service and result.

If you're willing to spend some proper cash for an extensive detail try these guys - http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk

Kelly is widely acknowledged as one if the best in the business. He ain't cheap though

Make sure you have a good look through the gallery/projects as there's some amazing transformations.

Thanks Stevo! I fear it's best left to the professionals in this case! I have a 2.5 still, the other half has the ///M. Both currently victims of the car park dinkers so need to get them sorted. Can have this done together.

Excellent - just the ticket. For £60.00 that's great. If he's coming to do mine and the ///M then hopefully a bit of a deal can be done.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks Bing. It needs to be a decent job so I shall sit tonight when I have some time and have a proper look at the website. Appreciate the recommendation!!

KDS have a brilliant reputation...

Another very good company that's a little closer to you is SL Restoration who are based near Gatwick - here's one of their recent writeups http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=335366

http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/detailing/bmw/bmw-z4 :D crazy level of detailingsesess.

The owner is on the Z4 Facebook pages, not sure if he's on here or not. He posted pics of the car on there when it was done, and whilst he wouldn't reveal the exact cost he did say it was more than the car is worth. But he's owned it from new and isn't ever going to sell it. The results are stunning, to say the least 8)
