hi. i was thinking of having the bottom of my bumper painted black mainly to cover some chips, what do you think.

That doesn't look at all bad. How about getting it wrapped to see if you like it in the flesh?

it'll end up showing more stone chips. silver hides them.

can't say i like it really. seems a bit of a fad at the moment with lots of people trying to copy cars coming out of the factory with black bottom halfs.

a guy up the road has painted the middle part of his mk1 audi tt in gloss black, on a silver car. it now looks retarded.

+1 silver actually hides better. When you get more chips down the road you'll see white specks everywhere. Plus from a distance it'll look as if your bumper is missing its bottom half. Respray and get a clearbra.

Isn't their an oem lip cover for the pre-facelift bumper?

Noooooooooooo not a clearbra! :D

You can get clear 'ballistic' wrap similar to that used on phone screens to protect from stone chips...

Isn't that what a clearbra is?

Ah, thought clear bras were clear versions of a car bra.... Ugly things... The 3M stuff is what I have on the headlights, looked at using it on the front bumper but it was cheaper to get a respray!
