Pain in the leg

most bmw seats dont have enough lumber in the back , in th past I have remove the seat back and put extra foam pad in the lower back area to give my back more support at the lower spine and it works great. 1/2" to 1" will do it. in fact I,m going to do mine as I am now getting the same back pain as I,ve only just got this car 3wks ago !!

The mrs can't sit in the z for more than 5-10 mins without it setting her hip off. If it was for more than an hr she probably wouldn't be able to walk. Summat to do with the seat shape and lowness of the seat

Might sound odd, but is she wearing tight jeans or trousers that are pinching on a nerve due to sitting in the same position over a long period of time?
No tight jeans or clothing, we were aware of that one, its funny its occurred this year after doing several eurotrips must be an old age thing, if she resds this im dead .lol
This lateral femoral nerve as mentioned seems to be the cause just gotta work out a way round it,
Sometimes long stints are unavoidable , as recently we did Pauls Castle an coast cruze which meant we had a 13 hr day an did some 460 mls, this again set it off , will have to look into some sort of medical type cushion,

You do seem to be confirming that you are doing 6-8 hour stints without breaks. If that's the case then I'm not in the least surprised that she gets pains. I'm also surprised you don't fall asleep at the wheel. UK government recommendation is breaks every 2 hours. Even the Apple watch encourages wearers to stand up and move for a minute every hour...

You really need to take a decent break every 2 hours, walk around and return to driving and I'm sure that will cure much of the issue. Secondly properly adjusting the seat. There are many guides for drivers, but much applies to passengers too.

Good luck as I'm sure it's no fun for her and creates tension on trips.

i get this exact thing. don't get it normally driving to and from work etc. but when i 1st got the car and had to drive it back from Ireland i got out and had the pain and just put it down to the fact it had been a very long day and wasn't used to the seats and it being so low. recently went down to St Albans to get my Quad done and was a 2 1/2 hour journey and got the same thing again. anything over and hour or so seems to trigger the pain u mentioned, mine is like a sciatic shooting pain down my lower back and the back of my left leg, and is still there now (9 days later) but i have played football 4 times during that time and seems to aggravate it and prolong it from going away by itself.

I think were gonna have to experiment with some type of cushion to alleviate the problem, as it seems now to be recurring,
Sometimes we have to be in the car for longer periods and as mentioned it seems to be agrivated by being sat for 2-3 hrs at a time,
Funnily enough she doesn't get bored , a little scared sometimes, but thats another story lol.
Even sat as a passenger she loves being out , top down int Zed,
Thanks for the replies so far  , keep you posted,
