After watching Jeremy C on this evenings Top Gear drive a Bentley around a frozen lake modeled after Silverstone, I decided that paddle shifting is the way to go.
Previously I have been content to leave the shifter in domesticated D , with the odd adventure into Sport Button.
The + - notch for up and down shifting seemed a bit ....??? dare I say 'poseurish" ...
I knew about the paddles ... Stared at them with curiosity ...Wondered if they ...Well I wasn't sure if they would improve my Zed Experience..
Well today was the day ..That I gripped the wheel with confident authority ...A few test slaps to discover how they functioned ..
Pull back to upshift ...as the force pressed me into the seat...
Push forward to downshift ...as I flex to keep my head from bumping the steering wheel ...
All good so far ... No bruising of forehead or ego ...
So what does it all mean?
Well Im discovering that my 3.0si in Domestic D is as smooth as silk on a gentle evening cruise.
A very comfortable and sweet relaxed ride.
Shift the lever to the left and into SD ...
Slap her around a little and let her get revved up into the sweet range ..
Well the Zed becomes a whole 'nother creature.
Multiple personalities, which I have to learn more about.
One question for you Manual Trany Guys and Girls on here ...
What's the sweet spot (revs) that you prefer to shift at ?
Lemme know so I can slap my paddle.
Cheers
