I will take a photo of what I need replacing and post it tomorrow evening to see what you think . Thanks.

I do have the wiring, but it’s part of an auto paddle set which I don’t want to split, although I’ll sell the lot.

Gen’s SMG wheel will have the correct wiring, only the chipset is SMG-specific.

You can use the wiring from a mini (R52 iirc) steering wheel with a simple modification. Likely the cheapest option.

Hello and thank you .

I understand that you would not want to split up the paddle set .

I don`t want to change my steering wheel as it has been refurbished by Royals.

On real oem It doesn`t have any other car down for the paddles apart from E85 but also doesn`t mention if any other cars used the same wiring . I will search the internet about the Mini wiring to see what I can find . I will add photos of what I have got on the first post . The wiring has become very brittle so not worth using . I may look to see if an auto electrician could make up a set but that maybe very expensive

For the Mini, the paddles are different (which is why the part number is not the same), but the chipset is the same and the wiring loom is mostly the same. The modification from Mini to Z4 just requires the removal of one length of wire. An auto electrician should be able to make up a loom reusing your existing plugs, which are otherwise hard to find.

I have found these on eBay but they have what looks like 4 main connectors rather than 2 . https://ebay.us/m/1l1R77 . Maybe I`ll find an auto electrician to see what they think . Thanks again for the input . Much appreciated

@1536Z4 , all you need is there except this wire which you should be able to recycle from your existing wheel.
IMG_7071.jpegThen you need to join the two plugs with red/green/brown wires together, and join the plug attached to the above wire to the black plug with white/yellow wires. Like this (the tiny plugs are attached to the paddles, but you shouldn’t need to detatch them)
IMG_7072.jpegThe bare wire attaches to the earth screw on your steering wheel. The white plug plugs into the slip ring. You shouldn’t need an electrician for this, there’s no cutting or stripping.

If you can’t find the spare wire in the first picture (to be honest, I can’t remember where it comes from), you should be able to just pull or cut the black plug off the yellow/white wires, attach yellow to the earth screw and tape up the white wire. The only problem with this is you may need to extend the yellow wire.

Thank you I have ordered a connection kit from Amazon today with various connectors and 1.5mm wires for delivery tomorrow and will have a look at this then . Much appreciated .
