Hi
I have an 04 plate 2.2 E 85 With a p0102 fault .All the relevant hoses have been checked and broken ones replaced. The weird thing is the revs change on idling when the foot brake is applied ????. Any suggestions.

Which hoses?
This can sometimes also be due to a MAF fault. Try disconnecting it so the car runs on a default map.

Hi
I have disconnected the MAF and the car behaves in the same way and also the P0102 error still comes up. Does this mean that the error is a faulty MAF.

If the MAF is not connected then it can’t be affecting anything. So you’ve removed that from the equation

Back to my initial question. Which hoses have been replaced? Any on the brake servo system?

That would suggest a problem with the brake servo - for whatever reason it's leaking vacuum and the engine is compensating. I'd replace it to be on the safe side.

Friend of mine had dodgy brakes on an E91. Turned out to be a rusty hole underneath where it couldn't be seen without removing it.
