Owner Question??!

Hmmmm.

Does your passenger wing mirror auto dim like the drivers?

I’ve had my passenger wing mirror glass get damaged and replaced today by the dealer and driving home in the dark it doesn’t seem to dim... the drivers one has a nice dark border around it but the passenger replacement just looks clear with no colour or dimming effect.

Did it ever? I thought both wing mirrors had auto dim?

I’d appreciate knowing from other owners that have the G29 with auto dimming mirrors if both of theirs dim please?

If it’s only factory on the drivers side that would explain things but if not, then they’ve fitted it incorrectly or it’s the wrong part.

Cheers

Yup, both mine do. You have to get a replacement heated, dimming mirror instead of just heated. The price is extortionate in comparison.

BMW cost cutting! My previous 335i and previous M135 had auto dim on both exterior mirrors but now my current M135 (2016) only has drivers side and interior.
Interested to see if the likes of the 5 series and above had both sides?

Could you get one from a LHD model?
Must confess I have no idea how it works? Is it a sensor or just some kind of coating on the glass?
