Owner for 5 days. Passenger side totalled!

3rd party company did not touch my insurers either and my prang all settled without my insurers becoming involved. And I had a 330 D Cab, and this company was appointment by the BMW dealer themselves

Oh man, that is crap, my heart goes out to you, I would be devastated. I'd like to say I would have battered the guy but I think I would have been crying too much. Hope it's not a right off, even getting more than it's worth is no conciliation. :(

The insurer is BMW though, who sold the car, so surely if it is a no fault write off the full value of the car should not be in dispute ? If they tried it on I'd go mental !

Will make no difference unless the OP had gap cover. The insurance company will always try and pay the least amount possible.

Hate to say it but if that was my car, I'd actually want it to be a total loss. As previously stated it looks like is damaged both pillars, and I definitely wouldn't want to be driving a tin top after that, let alone a convertible.

Horrible luck there though, I feel for you :(

Doesn't look that bad.

People who are saying it's a write off are a bit mental  it won't cost more than 7k to repair imo.

7K on a 10K car will write it off. Factor in hire car etc.

Hence why I put 7k, as thats 70% of the value.

Bare in mind thats not a definite rule. My puma cost 1k to repair. Value of car was about 1k.

this is really shitty, if it was my car I would want it writing off and hopefully you can start a fresh with another nice shiny car

There could be easily over £2000 in bits alone.. More if the roof mech and door card is damaged,And if the A pillar is damaged at all ( you can see where the hinges have been dragged due to impact),then it will definately be uneconomical to repair..

Labour rates of £100+ per hour plus vat will push it up too....

They'll get it on a jig and see if the shell is twisted. If it is, with all the other damage it'll be a total loss. If not they'll start dismantling it to check for secondary damage and to build a parts list.

I'm with the others, I'd want rid of it after that. BMW will find you a replacement car most likely, it'll be cheaper for them than paying out.
