Any long term views from owners who have had their N20 remapped by Celtic?
Any other suppliers to consider?

Evolve have mapped several owners cars on here, I’ve had no issues in over 5 years.

Had my N20 mapped by Performance Torque Wolverhampton 2 years ago and no issues. No affiliation to this company and only used them because a couple of other forum members had.

I had a bad experience of a Celtic tune fitted by a Celtic dealer to an E89 N20….

These days I’d only have a tune with a before and after dyno run

It’s good to see how the engine is performing before the upgrade and then of course after…

Funny how Celtic Tuning, Evolve, etc have become 'trendy' over the past few years.
Bootmod (3) are also very trendy with other BMW forums/ models.
Everybody in the Ford turbo world now seem to use Mountune.

I grew up with Superchips; they were one of the first in the modern turbo era and I have used them several times in the past 30 years. So when I wanted to remap my N20 I went to them. Superchips were purchased by 'remap kings' during 2020 but their files are still used by the new owners. I dealt with and paid Superchips but the van was written as Remap Kings!
Two years later have had no issues whatsoever with the remap. They are not very 'trendy' anymore so are very good VFM.

I went to a chap in Lowestoft who freely admitted that he used to be an agent for Celtic but then branched out, basically used their set up as a baseline then fine tuned it to each individual car on his rolling road. Got a before and after rolling road print out and came away very impressed with the improvements. Not looked back since.

I got a stage 3 Celtic tune for my N20 20i 3 years ago and have probably done about 10k miles since. No issues thus far. Enormous difference to the way the car drives. Really pleased with it.

Touche, Steve, touche! :D

I only live here, though. London bred. One of my grandmothers was a 'proper' cockney as she was born in Bow!

I had celtic map my C63 merc - 23i Z4 - diesel focus (surprising results) and 35i Z4
Their maps are known to be very agressive (on turbo cars) and you will love the result. Their base in Cornwall is very nice, twin tuning booths nice waiting area and you can watch then work via CCTV. You then get to test drive the car and if your not happy - no charge! Several project cars used for map develppment, they are often first to release maps for new vehicles/ECU's. When I had my C63 done they were the only dealer with a map for it at that time.
Nowadays I use MHD on my Z4, simply because I can play around with it, and I like that..

Absolutely - without a before and after dyno the map has no validity whatsoever

My point was more aimed at the Celtic franchise people who do it on your drive. It was the before and after rolling road maps that made it more valid for me.

I've used Angel Tunning in Banbury for my 2.4 Diesel Alfa Romeo Spider (939). I also had the DPF and EGR sorted too.

No rolling road but changes were night and day.
Claimed:
Power: 200bhp to 250bhp
Torque: 400N to 440/480N

The Banbury suite were the company that created the Jensen interceptor featured on Top Gear years ago. So walking/shown around while I waited was super interesting. I believe they also let you borrow a car so you can go shopping in Bicester too.

Super polite and helpful people.

Another one for Superchips/Remap Kings.

Good value, great service on your drive and a massive improvement in performance.

Nice to see Angel Tuning get a mention! i've used them three times, for a 335i and then two 330ds. put 60k on the two 330ds with no problems. dont get dyno readings but the difference in torque and driveability after a remap is obvious.

i normally get a discount for repeat service, and they normally pick up the car from my work and drop it off again when done. i'll be honest, any car i get now that has a turbocharger, i'll be going to them for a remap.

Did you use the Banbury?
Noticed you are from Leamington Spa too.
