Owned Z4 in 2004. Do i buy another one now? Help?

Hi All,
Im a new member to this and came across the forum whilst doing research on whether i should buy a z4. i previously had a 2003, 3.0, dealer launch model with hardtop but had to sell it after a year after being put on a ban for speeding. Have had a string of cars since incl. M3 SMG, X5, few superbikes, but now married was thinking a 3.0 zed represents good value for money...it is VW golf money... what does everyone think...cj10jeeper...hats off...you are getting back into Z4s...
 
M3 after a driving ban eh? Wouldn't have fancied the insurance on that one! :) Depends on your budget but arguably the biggest value if your buying will be at the top end of the range. £18K will put you into a nice Z4M. :)
 
Yep, great value... as said above if you get close to £18k you want to be looking at Ms. Oddly there is a cross over with the price on some similar aged 3.0 Sports, which actually puzzles the dealers! If you're buying older there's loads of info on here, if you haven't already check the FAQ.

If you get to M money little else comes close at that price.
 
I really wanted a auto....shame z4m doesnt come in smg...I have seen a 03 3.0 l with one owner, guy wants £10k...i need one with all the toys as the previous...insurance on the Z4 in 04 was £5k then after the M3 was also £5k...now im 29 with 8 years no claims...so should be better
 
5k to insure a car :o drive an 04 3.0 se auto good spec and its a lovely car to drive no super car but not slow either
 
yes £5K... i wouldnt pay it now...it was in my stupid younger days... paid it for 2-3 years...even x5 was £2.5k... student loan helped...lol
Now im wiser...want to buy a car where i wont loose alot...also have a wife now which will be driving it (scares me)..
 
By the way if anyone has one for sale let me know..must be 3.0litre, must have pro sat nav, must have heated seats and upgraded hifi..thank you

Bloody hell, so by my maths (correct me if I am wrong) at 23 with 2 years NCB the Z4 was costing you £5k? And that was before your ban, as you had to sell it?

At 23/ 4 yrs NCB I was paying £570 for a 330 Sport (same engine) and at 24 / 6 years NCB an M3 SMG cost me £1200.....five grand?!?! Ouch!!

Yes had 6 points too... I think it was with Tesco too...Bar Stewards took the pi55 out of me...but i was the idiot to pay it...yeah z4 was before the ban i got caught in a courtesy x5 as the z had gone for reapir doing 111mph in a 40mph..things you do in your youth...lol
