Oval shaped rear view mirror replacement glass

Hi all
Looks like mines got cataracts and needs changing however, I only want a replacement glass really, is that advisable and if so where’s a good place to start please? Someone mentioned mirror john
 
I’ve been into mirror john just now and he doesn’t sell the standard mirror glass, he said I would need to get a glazier to custom make a standard mirror instead..

Can anyone think how I can just get standard mirror glass without the auto dimming function please?
 
Why do you want an oval? I thought this was an M specific thing?
Just get a normal e85 one. Plenty of people with the e46 opt to mod to the e85 one as it's got no issues AFAIK.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve had the car two weeks and it came with an oval shaped mirror inside, I’m not fussed what shape it is but thought it maybe easier just to replace the failed auto dimming mirror glass with standard mirror glass as the rear is tinted so I won’t be blinded by any light from behind me anyway
 
I'd be tempted to just try a standard one, should swap out fine. Most of these things are easy bolt off, bolt on. Umfaan has a cheaper one than what I linked... and cheaper still than Mirror John AFAIK. I remember looking a while back and it's expensive to sort a oval one!
