That's by Apple.

I've had an iPhone 6 for about 6 months and a couple of months ago I noticed that here was a small chip out of the glass face on the edge, half way down the left hand side. I didn't do anything about it as it was very small and didn't affect the use of the phone at all. Anyway, last week I bought a brand new iPhone 6+ and thought that, even though the chip was very small, that I'd better get it fixed before selling the phone. Initially I contacted an independent business in Chester and was quoted £99.00 for a new screen - not good!! Last Friday I phoned Apple support, explained what was wrong and asked how much a new screen would be; their Customer Service rep asked if I had ever dropped the phone and when I said "no" he said he'd send out a package for me to send the phone to their repair centre and they'd have a look at it.

On Monday a package arrived containing a box and a pre-addressed, pre-paid plastic bag which was to be used to send the phone to them. I posted it on Monday afternoon and got an acknowledgment of receipt from them on Tuesday morning. Yesterday they emailed me to say that they were sending out a brand new iPhone 6 as a replacement and today it was delivered by UPS.

Amazing and very refreshing to receive such outstanding service.

Amazing!

I'm thinking about upgrading my 5s for a 6 but unsure of the benefits apart from a bigger screen (which would be useful). The 6 plus is too big for my needs.

What are your thoughts?

To be fair, I've always found the Apple shop in the Trafford Centre in Manchester very good.

Once you find your way through the crowds that is.

It' not just the increase in screen size that makes a iPhone 6 a worthy upgrade as there are plenty more improvements:
A beefier A8 processor, a fantastic camera that produces point and shoot worthy snaps , 1080p video with super smooth slow-mo video at 240 fps and a crispy, accurate and bright higher res display all combine to make this easily the best iPhone yet. (Obviously, all in my opinion!) :)

I've got a 6plus. Realise the size isn't for everyone but it's a great piece of kit. The improvement in screen size over the 5 to the standard 6 is a winner in my view.

I had a 5S and upgraded to a 6 and whilst it is a better phone (processor, screen etc) it's a marginal rather than dramatic improvement. I'd be inclined to wait for the 6S now.

Thats great customer care for sure.

I have the standard 6 and its okay. Has all the apps I need, which isn't many, but were lacking in the Windows phone store hence the switch. If Windows had all the apps I need, I would have stuck with that.

That won't be a Brand New phone. It will be a refurbished phone that has old internals but replacement cosmetic pieces. Yours will be sent to china and the innards will be stripped and put into another refurb phone to go to someone else

Though as far as service goes you can't complain at that!
