Hi all
After a long months wait I pick my z4 up tomorrow morning
It's a 1 owner 2008 3.0 si and has been garaged since new
Wanting to keep the roof as in good as condition as poss as it will be left outside until I sort a carport out
Any ideas on best roof cover noticed cabrioshield do 2 one of which is breathable
Not sure what to do as read poss scratching of paintwork with some covers
Be grateful for any advice

And have a look at this thread - people are reporting scratching and paint marring with some covers

These are meant to be good quality but not the cheapest

I picked one up 2nd hand from ebay, well worth the investment considering next doors cat likes to lie on the roof!

Have already said this but I've had and used two heavier fabric type covers for my roof and they both scratched and marked the paintwork

One light cover (more plasticy silver) I've used and it still marks but much less effect on the paint. This is the one I use at present and will replace over the winter with a new one as the elastic straps are losing their elasticity (after 18 months)

I do use the cover every day and it's on and off all the time more than once a day sometimes so that might be relevant.

'Chezsherman' used a fabric type for a time and it's made such a mess of his black paint he's in email contact with the company asking for his money back (not fit for purpose and now he needs his paintwork correcting and in some places resprayed  )

See what others say but that's my findings. Get that carport up quick

Got mine from 'Just Roadsters' based in Doncaster. Note: the elastic straps do mark the gel coat a little but I'm able to buff out such marks - far less damage than the heavier fabric type covers.
