Outside Noise

Does anyone feel like they get more outside noise from the passenger side of the car?? I'm constantly looking for the door open light and making sure the window is all the way up. Does anyone else experience this??

I've never rode in the passenger side of my Z so I can't help you there Veruca..you sure you're not being paranoid?! There are lots of things on the drivers side that there aren't on the passenger side, like steering, shifter, pedals, gadgets - maybe they help break some of the noise :idunno:

Veruca, I seem to recall that sensation when I 1st got the car.
Don't notice anymore though....

I think it's just acoustics.

I feel like i'm missing a piece of insulation or something on that side. Maybe i'm just having vision and hearing problems.

Ok - just gotta ask this one: How in the world can you perceive more noise coming out of the one side of your Z after owning/driving an S2k?

One of the reasons I dumped my S2k and bought a Z4 was a reading on my sound pressure meter of 90db at 70mph on the freeway in the Honda. My Z4 sounds like a Lexus after that :D

On the maybe 3 occasions as a passenger in my own Zed, I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Where exactly are you hearing the noise from? I wonder if it might have to do with the rubber seals?

You probably have the convertible, it does sound like there is road noise comming in where the top meets the rear fender. Probably wouldn't be a sound the coupe folks would hear, but it is there in the convertible. Never rode on the passanger side so don't know if it sounds the same only on left side.

Yeah, yeah, I hear ya! Not comparing it to the S though. The M is much more quiet. I'm sure it's a convertible thing. I don't hear a lot of outside noise from the left side - only right. I sounds like there is a hole in the top or the window isn't all the way up. It's not a big deal - I usually have the radio up high enough that I don't hear it. Just one of those things. I took the lease over from someone else and there's always that paranoia of what did the previous owner do?

I can't believe your driving with the top up. The shame. Isn't there some kind of penalty for driving with the top up?

Amen, brother!!!! x2 :P

The convertible top is only for ease of washing the car and for emergencies such as getting caught in the rain or the girl in the passenger seat gets too cold. 8)
