Microsoft have just launched their new web based email service, Outlook.com.

I've just registered an account, the interface looks a lot cleaner than Hotmail, with more social networking integration.

Worth signing up for an account, even if it's just to secure your preferred email account name.

Taz,

It's a new service so your hotmail email wont show up in it. You'll need to logout of Outlook.com and then in to Hotmail.com to see your messages.

Don't know then. Both my hotmail.co.uk and outlook.com work independantly of each other.

Not that I use Hotmail due to the howling security issues it has...

i think i created the new account whilst the hotmail account was open so it used info from that

fortunately there was a recover option

this as not worked for me, i still can't logon to my old account without using the new addy i have set up

My old email is setup to go into a folder in the new outlook email.

All worked pretty seamlessly for me

My Gmail goes to Outlook but I cant get this Outlook.com set up on MS Outlook

All of your hotmail emails should automatically come through, either to the inbox or to a [email protected] folder depending on which option you ticked... all folders & saved emails should be copied across.

AFAIK you can't access the [email protected] anymore, everything then goes thru the [email protected].

Thankfully all worked perfectly for me

For a desktop app the best bet was Windows Live Mail. It'll let you set-up a hotmail account like you used to be able to in Outlook/Outlook Express back in the day.
