Outdoor Protective Cover

Hi all Z4 drivers. I am a first time poster and have recently bought a 2010 35is.
I will require to store my Z4 outside as our garage will be occupied with our 2 daily drives during the colder and wetter winter months (located in Aberdeen, NE Scotland).
I am looking for any feedback on recommended ALL weather covers that have proved to be very successful for you.
This one looks good to me, however I would appreciate any guidance from you.

Thanks in advance

If you’re interested I’ll dig out some pictures..

Very sturdy …

You do have to be very very careful to ensure the car is completely dirt free before fitting it..otherwise it will sandpaper your car..

My current Z4 came with a 4 layer Stormforce cover which seems to get good reviews. Link to one here:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114574471134?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=7101533165274578&mkcid=2&itemid=114574471134&targetid=4584826055637462&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=412354546&mkgroupid=1299623041023876&rlsatarget=pla-4584826055637462&abcId=9300541&merchantid=87779&msclkid=a06fe5d9715a195812cf84b49decfce8

But as mine lives outdoors and gets used now and again all year I sold it because there was no way it would be clean and dry every time I wanted to fit the cover.

Having yours sat for a few months that might work, but personally I'd put the Z4 in the garage on a trickle charger and leave a daily outside!

Is the cover specific for the Z4 and does it cater for the ariel on the rear near side

Yes it’s very well tailored specifically for the car…

There is an aerial flap but I unscrew mine and pop it on the pax seat as it’s a route for water to trickle in..

Thanks Mr Tidy,
Now you have upset my wife… I have told her that her car needs to stay out doors this winter.
Think I may be sleeping on the sofa tonight :(

On a serious note, it’s good to get contrasting views to help the decision making process.

Another advocate for the Stormforce cover here. 2 lateral straps between the axles and for strong winds you can sew in a loop at each end to run a bugy cord for extra security and peace of mind .

My Stormforce used everyday for 9 years, under tree with lots of you know what been on it.
Sometimes i thought a pterodactyl lived in the tree.
Still good.
Started to tare though at the back of car and over mirrors. Needs sewing up.
Partly my fault getting it trapped in boot and pulling.
But had my monies worth out of it.
The ebay link given above looks a good price, i'm tempted to get another.

If you have the space go for a folding 'garage' - better ventilated and no contact with your paintwork.

That looks handy but I could see it having plenty of contact with more than just paintwork if a strong wind picked up and started blowing it around :o
You’d need some strong anchoring at each corner I think, but it still looks like it would fold in a strong wind.
Edit: ...and reading the safety disclaimers on the site- it’s no good in wind, rain or snow.
Pretty useless then for £770!
