He also took a look at my alloys as they have started to blister a little and has recommended a local alloy wheel refurbisher - one that does a proper job; strips the alloys down and powered coats for around £250 plus vat. So thats good to know when the time comes.

Thank the lord you called it a GSXR, it boils my piss when folk call em 'Gixxer', same goes for any green Kawasaki, it must obviously be a 'Ninja', grumble.....

Silverdale, Lancaster - so on the west coast between Preston and the South Lakes. We carried on up the coast to Arnside for another potter and sat out overlooking the bay at the Albion. Do you know that neck of the woods John?
Nice bikes Smarbear. How was the speed triple? My pal had a 1050 engine one and really liked it. He's now got a Ducati Multistrada Pikes Peak which I was lucky enough to take a spin to Boxhill when I was down visiting a couple of weeks back. That's a fantastic bike to ride. Made my BMW R1150R feel quite agricultural.....which it is in comparison :roll: Quite fancy a speed triple or a mk1 Daytona 675Smartbear said:Nice pics Marlon

Ta, I've had the 1050 and the 955 speedys-both are really fun bikes that handle well and sound glorious (especially with the triumph TOR pipe!)
I'd say the 955 had a slightly more comfy riding position but a terrible seat!
The 1050 is much better at pulling wheelies if you like that sort of thing
the extra grunt is really noticeable in the low/mid range.Build quality is good with plenty of stainless bolts used around the bike-I would recommend either model
