Out of warranty 1 day and 2 problems!

I do feel sympathy in these occasions, but at the same time I pay out for extended warranty - so if you've made a concious decision that your warranty will stop on X date, then you'll pay - so be it.

I understand where you're coming from but to be fair I've not even been offered an extended warranty. Whether I'd have taken it out I'm not sure, possibly not...

There is no date on the fault ...

You might well be right, but when I took out my new cover with BMW, after letting it lapse for a year, they told me that they would not start it for one month in case I had just started a fault and was just taking out the cover, I jokingly said "no problem, Ill wait a month" they told me they could time stamp faults and would know, to which i guess, it perhaps, narrows the time down to a month?,

I asked the specific question as I had an iBus error, the dealer gave me the print out of all faults of the car, but they could not tell me when the fault occurred.

Thanks for all your help and comments - turned out the air-con need re-gassing and servicing (not covered under warranty) and the alarm problem was related to the bonnet release catch, which I seem to recall is a common problem and they covered under warranty.

Incidentally, the car was sold last June under AUC and so had received one years warranty from point of sale, rendering a lot of my post irrelevant as I actually now have a few more weeks left!

Stress over...

Cheers,
Billard

So is a battery though and I got a replacement on my previous Z?

always remember !!!

an object or item or machine ,all have a normal life expectancy!!

a car is no different!

so bmw is if not in part responsible for their product too meet that life expectancy!!

meaning warranty is not restricted to their terms, ore even better they are in violation if they compromise the coustomers rights by their terms of warranty.
(this is the case in holland anyway) i think this applys worldwide?

so go to a dealer and report the whole buisniss end dont take no for an answer too easily.

If it was recommended, it would be part of the service schedule ...

Check your heated rear window if thats gone it could be the same fault I had of low battery voltage, if it is the it is a code reset and battery cherge up. should be about £70 at the dealer. Mine was rectified as a warranty issue.
