I haven't seen any thread on photos we take when attending motorsport event. I guess some of you visit your local track for major series events, right? I haven't done for some year but got some pics to share

Lol, yeah yeah... I just saw it now in bold font! Those DTM cars kept my attention last night. Nature is another perfect location for photography, isn't it? It requires more waiting and haunting than race cars going around a circuit every 90 seconds.

I do snap some street and racing cars every now and then whenever I have the chance to go to a race track for work. But all these are phone photos == crap photos. It's being a long long time since I get the camera out for the last time

Yes that’s right. On a circuit you get much more chance’s to get the best picture. With nature shots patience and a portion luck is very handy.

But it must be time someone lowered the tone!

In the late 90s I had aspirations to do some racing and ended up buying a fully-caged MG Maestro that I used on a few track days, until after passing my ARDS test I found it wasn't eligible for the series I was planning to do.

I never found out why it smoked so badly on faster corners, but as a result it got nicknamed Puffing Billy. :lol:

So here it is in all it's glory at Castle Combe with the Rover SD1 my mate raced in the Winter Series
