What were the bobbies outside Downing St doing when the flunkies were carting booze in?

At a guess they had been told to say nothing by the top brass!

It's the job he always wanted but is the most unfit to do. We need leaders with integrity and conviction not ones whose sole purpose in life is looking after themselves.

Is that really true as if so the ideal PM would be Jeremy Corbyn.

We really need the person who can drive this country onwards and upwards in a safe and prosperous manner irrespective of any personal foibles that he may have. Is that person Boris? I don't know

In my book it matters that those making the rules should follow the rules. That's what leadership is about especially at times of crisis when trust is required and millions are being asked to make sacrifices. In that sense it's irrelevant that others (a minority probably?) may have also broken the rules.

It's the job he always wanted but is the most unfit to do. We need leaders with integrity and conviction not ones whose sole purpose in life is looking after themselves. I think the bufoonery is an act, underneath is a narcissistic and calculating self server. He wants you to get bored with it by stretching it out, brushing it off, making a joke of it, hoping that other events will come to his rescue, its his modus operandi. Cant wait to see the back of him. Unfortunately we are not exactly blessed with high calibre possible replacements but that's what happens when people stop caring about these things.
We’ve not had a male Prime Minister with integrity since Harold Wilson, and the only PM since then was Margaret Thatcher and possibly Theresa May. We’re also paying more tax now, as defined by total tax revenue against GDP, at 33% than when John Major was PM in 1996 when it was down to 29.2% and since 2011 it has steadily increased, all under a conservative PM.

Tbf thats the most enjoyable of the low hanging easy fruit, by far the best use of the forum :P

You carry on lads in your so far unsuccessful quest

The last thing we need at the moment is a general election, which could be the outcome if Boris is forced out. We need to focus on the really important issues facing us at the moment. I am no fan of Boris but like others here I cannot see a competent replacement in the wings. Truth be known I struggle to name an honest politician with integrity in my lifetime. Mind you I am only 77. Most of them are in it for themselves.

Well it was old Corbyn, we would still be going to war in Europe, who knows for which side though

Not certain there would be general election, just the conservatives voting in a new leader who would carry on, there would only be a general election if said leader thought they had a massive majority to stay in power

You might well be correct but I did read in yesterday’s paper that conservatives have been told if Boris resigns or is forced out there will need to be an election. Might just be a threat by the Whips to stop a bigger rebellion. It was in the Daily Mail where I read it!😉

For that to be the case the tories would have to fail to agree a leader and elect them as the head of a new government, in other words it would be self inflicted.

Which many of their current problems are. I just can’t believe how stupidly supposedly intelligent people have behaved. :headbang:

Think the only person who can call that is a PM and not certain a new one would instantly, they would want to make their mark first to give them a chance of re-election.
