Our New Z4

Hi and welcome to the Forum :) .....and before anyone else asks - PICTURES PLEASE

Runflat tyres (RFTs) - do a search and you will find loads on here with the consensus - change to non RFTs with a significant improvement in handling.
Bak discs - if they are in poor condition get thm changed now. Certainly not worth the risk running on dodgy discs - get the pads changed at the same time of course.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've maybe got "sticky steering" - if you Google it, there's a good load of information and potential fixes out there

welcome

ditching the runflats will certainly help, maybe a wheel alignment too :)

tyre pressures even on both sides? the z4 seems quite sensitive to certain surfaces and can easily feel exaggerated sometimes.

Welcome - I was in Holmfirth earlier today ate tea at Piccolinos ! Was in Mrs Badgers Audi not my Z which is also a 2004 2.5 yes I agree the roads are great fun !!

And I love my run flats !!!!!

did you have the heater pointed to the footwells? that can make the sticky steering start while on the move

it dries out or makes the grease too runny or something so it doesnt lubricate the parts properly or something along them lines

There's one thread that involved a grease nipple drilled into the steering column. Eliminates the problem all together. I just can't find it at the mo :headbang:

Edit - found this one, but think there was a better one http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=50994
