What an upsetting end to a marvelous adventure, sad to see the drama unfold at the end, having read all of this thread tonight.
Hope you are feeling much better now, the Guys on the forum will keep you amused, as there is always something happening, so much so, it is hard to keep up with it all.
Perhaps you can use the time off to plan next years trip.

Bummed to hear you had to cut short, but you're in the best place at the moment, being ill is no small matter.

Loved reading the start of the thread, you have a great blogging style and hope you get to finish the trip, hopefully stelvio will be open next time too...

Right - as I hate unfinished threads I thought I'd give an update.

Was discharged yesterday - official diagnosis being Sepsis then Myocarditis. Bugger.

Now been told anything between 2-4 weeks to recover before even thinking about work, then lead in slowly.

It's SO good to be back at home with SWMBO and the dog, and home cooked food!

Went into the garage yesterday and saw the Zed sitting there, just as it has been since since came back a month ago, Italian dead flys and all. God it's dirty and needs a big wash, I'm just glad I did a couple of coats of wax before we went.

Sarah needed to move it last night and she fired up first crank, good Zed :D (wasn't on a charger etc so was a bit worried).

So - recovery underway, next trip planning underway. I'm thinking probably a trip to my mum and dads in Edzell (Scotland) so we can really explore the fantastic scottish roads around there, then do a bit of a Scotland tour.

We've not been put off doing euro trips etc, but to finish our planned holiday I think we'll fly to Florence and get ten train to rome then fly home from there.

Stelvio is stil calling though at some point...
